What does Crap4MyKid.com think:
Pros: Extremely comfortable for baby and parent. Airy. Easy to put child in the seat.
Cons: Bulky when storing.
Overall Impression:
This carrier is AWESOME!! We have used and reviewed a handful of baby carriers and this is by far the best we have seen for carrying a child for a long time. Right out of the box it was extremely easy to use. Many of the carriers that people use for their baby or child are a bit complicated to learn to use. So much so that they come with a DVD to teach you. This isn’t the case with the F3.0 by KELTY.
The KELTY F3.0 is a great quality backpack with the child carrier incorporated. The pockets are very spacious. So much so that we were able to empty Ellie’s whole diaper bag and put all contents comfortably within the F3.0. We cloth diaper, which takes up a lot more room and we had no problem fitting everything we needed. The area that the child sits is quite spacious and has the 5 point harness, which adds to the safety. The material is very airy, preventing the adult’s back from getting too sweaty. I carried Ellie around for over an hour and stayed relatively dry for the warm weather.
The adjustable waist and shoulder straps also make the F3.0 very comfortable.
Our favorite feature of the KELTY F3.0 was the Auto-deploy Kickstand. This feature allows the carrier to stand upright making for easy “In and Out” child placement. You can also use it as your child’s seat at snack time. Other backpack carriers we have reviewed, although we did like them, didn’t have this feature. They were more difficult to put Ellie in without a second person.
The KELTY F3.0 also has a greater weight capacity than most carriers. Where most have a top weight of 35 pounds, the F3.0 hods up to 50. That being said, I would never carry my kid when they hit 35 pounds. Never mind 50.
There is however a negative to the KELTY F3.0. Because of the rugged build of the carrier, along with the kickstand, the F3.0 is quite large and takes up a lot of space when storing. Especially, in the car. We have a minivan and the F3.0 took up a large chunk of the back area. So much room in fact, that we were not able to bring Ellie’s stroller. Although, this is a negative, we still feel the KELTY F3.0 is the best we have used thus far. At least for our needs. We feel that the benefits of the KELTY F3.0 far outweigh this one negative.
If you are in the market for a fantastic child carrier that you won’t mind using for long stretches of time, that is comfortable for both parent and child and can hold all your kid’s stuff, then the KELTY F3.0 is perfect.
Crap4MyKid.com thinks the KELTY F3.0 is AWESOME CRAP!!
